Note: Obituary: Obituary: He was born on August 26, 1928 in Waupun, the son of John and Laura (Doty) Peters. Bob was united in marriage to Meta Verdien on November 22, 1947. He began his career as a bricklayer and later joined the Masons Union in 1949. Bob proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps as a helicopter mechanic, serving from 1952 until 1954 while stationed in California. Later, he was employed for Oliver Construction in Oconomowoc for over 35 years until retiring in 1990. Along with his wife, Bob loved traveling across the country, taking bus trips to 49 states over the years. He also enjoyed gambling trips, woodworking, and working in his yard. Bob will be deeply missed by his wife of 62 years, Meta Peters of Waukesha; his son, Robert (Jennifer) Peters, Jr. of Waukesha; grandson, Cory (Danielle Dovnik) Peters of Madison; sister-in-law, Elizabeth “Betty” Peters of Johnson Creek; brother-in-law, Bob Schwarze of Brandon; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Eugene and Donald Peters; 2 sisters: Vera Schwarze and Margaret Schubert; and his parents. Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2010 from 11:00 AM until the 12:00 Noon memorial service at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha, WI. Memorials in Bob’s name may be made to Curative Senior Services of Waukesha, c/o Curative Foundation, 1000 N. 92nd St., Milwaukee, WI 53226. |
