Note: Obituary: Obituary: She married Melvin H. Peters on September 27, 1941. While Melvin served as a staff sergeant in World War II, Dorothy operated a crane in a munitions factory. After the war, they owned and operated dairy farms in Byron and Lomira area for many years and, later, Merrydale Resort near Rhinelander. They helped to found Calvary Bible Church, Fond du Lac. In addition to being a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Dorothy was an avid singer and artist throughout her life. She leaves a legacy of faith, commitment to family, and creative expression to her many descendants. She is survived by her four children: Wayne R. (Marjorie) Peters of Eau Claire, Janet Peters Burbridge of MI, Hazel Fern (Grant) Peters Brown of Medford, Patricia A. (James) Peters Swan of Ogema; 11 grandchildren: Carrie (Carter) Muench of Chanhassen, MN, David (Shelly) Peters of Eau Claire, Jonathan (Holly) Peters of Eau Claire, Joshua (Amber) Burbridge of Berkeley, CA, Zachary (Kayla) Burbridge of Royal Oak, MI, Bethany Reyes of Royal Oak, MI, Charity Burbridge of Miami, FL, Heather Brown of Portland, OR, Laura Brown of Minneapolis, MN, Annika (Brian) Hites of Milaca, MN, Matthew (Tamra) Swan of Spirit; nineteen great-grandchildren: Ellie, Graham, and Ava Muench, Zoey, Grady, and Henry Peters, Silas and Caleb Burbridge, Greta, Addie, Aaron and Andrew Peters, Gabriel Reyes, Isaac Burbridge, Brinna and Micah Hites, Breanna, Owen, and Klara Swan. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Melvin, two sisters Betty Thompson and Alta Miller, and two brothers, Jack and Wilbur Guell. |
