She was born in Fond du Lac on November 3, 1944, the daughter of the late Joseph and Rose (Adelmeyer) Schmidbauer. Sherlee grew up in LeRoy, WI, attended Mayville High School, and received her Registered Nurse degree from St. Agnes School of Nursing in 1965.

On June 26, 1965 Sherlee married Peter Feyen, her devoted husband of 51 years. Sherlee worked as a surgical RN for 44 years at Mercy Medical Center. Sherlee enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting and numerous other crafts. She was generous with her time and talents, creating costumes for ballet recitals, plays & other special programs. She was Campfire Girls group leader for her younger daughter. Sherlees's greatest joy was spoiling her grandson rotten.
