Note
|
Charles Toussaint Richards had a disability from a Civil War wound suffered in May 1864. Following is a sworn statement made by Lewis Richards (1818-1886) in regards to the marriage of Charles Richards and Polly Seymour. Published in Twigs and Branches of a Richards Family Roots in America - by Garold A Richards State of New York St Lawrence County On this 29th day of August 1883, before me a pension notary in the said county personally appeared Lewis Richards who being by me duly sworn says his Post Office address is Massena, St Lawrence County and State of New York. That his age is 66 years, that he was present at the solemnization of the marriage of Charles Richards and Polly Seymour by one Rodney Hulbert ESQ., a Justice of the Peace in and for the said county of St Lawrence on or about the 5th day of March, 1836. That the said parties lived together as husband and wife until the death of the said Charles Richards, and raised a large family of children. I further certify that I have no interest in this claim. (X) [Mark of Lewis Richards] 2 Witnesses - J. W. Webb & W. G. Snaich Subscribed and sworn before me this 29th day of August, 1883. |
